Sorry, too late !
Only built over two years, in 1976 and 1977, the 911 Carrera 3.0 is a special series. In Targa, only 1105 exemplars were produced. Equipped with the exceptional Carrera 3.0L block, evolved from the 2.7 RS, the engine of this 911 is undoubtedly the best of its generation now become legendary, with its 5-blade turbine propeller. All aluminium as in the mythical 930 Turbo (stronger than magnesium that fitted the previous generations) and equipped with a Bosch K-Jetronic injection, it offers 200 hp and is one of the most powerful atmospheric engines of the range.
Its reduced weight and its light crankshaft make this car especially dynamic and full of torque. Porsche made strong efforts to improve the efficiency of its cars while decreasing the consumption of its engines in order to maintain exceptional performance in an oil shock environment. The Carrera 3.0 did not export beyond Europe and, for the first time, Porsche decided to fully galvanize its 911 hulls, a significant advantage to preserve these precious exemplars.
Its wide wings were also taken from the 2.7 RS, asserting its style. Its premium positioning at that time offers a luxurious finish including an electric pack, matte black door handles and surroundings, 5-spoke Fuchs wheels that were standard and 4 seats. The headlights sprinklers and the electrically adjustable mirror were also typical of this 911.
The car offered here, from 1977, has rare and highly demanded options: passenger mirror, tinted glass, brake assist (very modern and safe at that time), and above all a type 915 5-speed gearbox, offering a real driving pleasure.
Delivered new in Verona in Italy, our Carrera 3.0 Targa only known two meticulous Italian owners and displays today its original 123 600 km. Matching numbers and colors, this exceptional example has never been restored and only benefited from a respray once. The car will be appraised and delivered with its Porsche certificate and its controle technique.
