Chassis WP0ZZZ93ZFS000608 – Only 10 300 km from new!
Specialized in Porsche cars maintenance in the 60’s, the garage Ruf, created in 1939, started to improve the performance of Porsche cars in the early 70’s by developing a 5-speed gearbox for the 930 Turbo. Few years later, Ruf creates its own car based on the 911 SC and becomes famous when starting to work on the 911 Turbo, creating the Ruf BTR (for Group B Turbo) in 1977. In the early 80’s, Ruf becomes a fully car manufacturer, in agreement with Porsche. The Ruf myth was truly born in 1987 when they created the CTR « Yellowbird », the fastest car in the world at that time, with a top speed of 343 km/h!
If Ruf creates its own cars from the end of 70’s, they do not stop the special orders requested from Porsche clients. Thus, any Porsche client wishing to get a more exclusive and a high-performance car could turn to Ruf to order aesthetic modifications and mechanic improvements.
The 911 3.3 Turbo that we offer here went through this process. Already beautifully equipped when leaving Porsche factory, with an electric sunroof and a magnificent black dress with black leather interior, Ruf brought wheels and a steering wheel with a particular homemade design, much appreciated at that time, a Ruf branded instrumentation, floor mats, side skirts with a greater effect, and a specific front spoiler with a radiator. Mechanically, the car received a new intercooler, an improved camshaft and a new exhaust pipe. All of these modifications are attested on a Ruf certificate.
The car still has its original service book. Its purchase invoice shows a first registration on March 18th, 1985 in Cologne, Germany. The car travels 1422 km before being exported to the USA on May 30th, 1985. A new odometer in miles is installed and the car is driven for 4720 miles in 24 years, before being imported again on September 7th, 2009. Back in Europe, Ruf installed a new odometer in km and it is now showing 1300. All in all, the car was driven for only 10 318 km since it left the factory. Matching numbers and colors, it still has its original toolkit. The car will be appraised in agreed value before delivery to its new and lucky owner.
