For the first time in Maranello’s history, Ferrari innovates by using fiberglass for the body of the legendary 308 GTB. Lighter by 150 kilos, more maneuverable and therefore more powerful, the 308 was the obvious choice for any racing driver before the model switched to a conventional metal body from 1977 onwards. Produced in just 808 examples, “la Vetroresina” is rare and very pleasant to drive, with the sound of the carbureted V8 dry sump and its characteristic single-exit exhaust. This chassis, number 20937 tipo F106 AB, is one of the last produced and was delivered on March 14, 1977 to Mr. Giovanni Zanoletti by the S.p.a Motor dealership in Bologna for 20,500,000 lire. Equipped with all the options of the time, including a rare air-conditioning system, larger front spoiler, electric windows and wider rims, the car remained in the same family for over 20 years.
In 2000, the car was sent to Germany by Mr Stefan Stolle of Wesel, where it was restored by Wilhelm Lackmann, a Ferrari specialist in Bochum, and exported to the Czech Republic in 2008 through Osobni Automobil. On this occasion, the car will receive an extensive technical inspection by the Ferrari-Maserati Scuderia Praha dealership.
In 2014, it arrived in Belgium, where its owner will maintain it without saving money at Gipimotor specialist Christophe Van Riet in Brussels until 2024, with a total of just 89070 kilometers on the odometer.
Still maniacally preserved in its original paintwork for the most part, its interior, so beautiful in the first series, remains intact, still with its original car radio and instruction manual, order form, new vehicle purchase invoice, copies of all foreign roadworthiness certificates since 1977, warranty booklet, Ferrari service, jack, invoices, copies of technical inspections, virgin French roadworthiness test, approved value appraisal, European roadworthiness certificate.
