BMW Z1 – 29 000 km only

Presented in 1987 in Frankfurt Motorshow, the gorgeous Z1 concept surprises the BMW fans with its original design and its technical audacity. BMW Technik, one of BMW subsidiaries, was created to brighten up the brand and define the new trends for the future. This is how the Z1 (Z for « zukunft » meaning « future ») announced the return of BMW in roadster bodies, abandoned since the famous 507. At that time, the Z1 concept is so successful that the fans convinced BMW to produce a small series. They predicted a production of 5000 cars only, but the Z1 was finally produced at 8000 units between 1988 and 1991, all assembled by hand, turning it to an exclusive car!

Its body was innovative because made of composite materials. But what truly catch the attention are these retractable doors, which electrically drop down into the door sills. Giving the opportunity of driving down doors, the Z1 roadster provides unusual sensations! Under the hood, we find the melodious straight 6-cylinder from the 325i E30, developing 170 hp.

Our Z1 left the production line in 1989 with the VIN WBABA91080AL01101, with a Toprot 257 paint and a Grau 300 interior, and has an optional windschott. Imported in Italy in 1994 where it stood for 20 years, our car is in French papers since 2014. With only 29 000 km on the clock today, it is offered with an important file of maintenance invoices. Entirely revised, our Z1 fully fits in the movement of modern collectible cars, currently very promising.
